Materials that can be used as guidelines by individuals and governments

The Special Rapporteur develops materials on the right to adequate housing for dissemination. These materials attempt to explain the right to adequate housing in accessible language and offer user-friendly tools to assist in the practical implementation of housing rights. They are available in several languages.

The materials are distributed under the Creative Commons 3.0 license and can be freely published, amended and broadcast, provided that the original source is mentioned. In some publications, we left a space so that you may place the logo of your organization if you want to print them.

One of our most recent works is a pamplet on forced evictions, addressed to communities threatened by eviction. This publication contains suggestions on how to deal with evictions and how to learn about housing rights and international human rights law and standards.

We also developed a guide, based on the 2007 guidelines of the mandate of the Special Rapporteur, which provide orientation to those involved in development-based evictions on how to include housing rights concerns in any development project.
